Support with profile - the sponsoring activities of GLS Germany
Sponsoring is a constant element of the CSR and marketing activities of GLS. The company makes sure that the projects match the offer and the attitude of the brand GLS. At the same time, GLS aims to make an active contribution for the society. Fair play, team spirit and equal opportunities are therefore of great importance when deciding on the support of social and cultural projects and sports events.
Action! with GLS
Since 2012, GLS has played a crucial role as the official logistics partner of the European Film Awards: The parcel service provider transports the golden statuettes that symbolize the most important European film award, first to the venue of the awards gala. The gala takes place every two years in Berlin, in the years in between in a different European metropolis – 2018 in Seville, Spain. After the award ceremony, GLS will return the statuettes to their manufacturer, the London jeweler and designer Theo Fennell. There they will be engraved and then handed over to the winners by GLS.
Versatile top-class sport
Somewhat younger is GLS's commitment to athletics in Germany: As main sponsor of the German Athletics Association (DLV), GLS has been supporting the world's largest athletics association with more than 850,000 members since spring 2017. The GLS logo is present at competitions, among other things on the start number and in the stadiums. As a special "delivery service", GLS delivers sports equipment such as disks and javelins back to the drop-off point with a true-to-original remote control delivery vehicle.
In April 2018 the partnership with a very special athlete was added: Julian Reus, the "fastest German" (record holder over 60m and 100m). Reus and GLS are united by the high demand for fast and consistently good performance, among other things. For GLS, Reus is active as brand ambassador in various communication and marketing measures.
Another brand ambassador has been Gesa Felicitas Krause, a steeplechaser, since spring 2019. The German record holder in the 3,000 m steeplechase stands for sporting success as well as for special fairness in competition. As part of the cooperation she integrates GLS into her social media activities.
At the beginning of 2021, GLS was able to win Germany's best cross-country runner Samuel Fitwi as third individual athlete for a partnership.
